Supreme Beef Stew
A hearty beef stew with a rich flavor profile.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beef stew meatCut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 tablespoons savoryOptional, to taste
- β1 medium onionChopped
- β3 cloves garlicMinced
- β2 medium carrotPeeled and sliced
- β2 large potatoPeeled and cubed
- β2 cups beef brothLow-sodium
- β1 cup waterOptional

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium and add the onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the carrot and potato. Cook for 5 minutes.

Add the beef broth and water (if using). Stir to combine.

Return the beef to the pot and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours or until the beef is tender.

Stir in the savory (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
