Venezuelan Pecorino Croute
A crispy Venezuelan-inspired croute topped with creamy pecorino cheese.
Ingredients
- β8 oz pecorino cheesegrated
- β1 package crouteavailable at most supermarkets
- β1 handful springy greenssuch as arugula or spinach
- βto taste venezuelan saltsuch as sea salt or kosher salt
- β2 oz grated romano cheeseoptional
- β1 loaf salty flatbreador other crusty bread
- β1 package en crouteoptional
Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

2. Slice the croute into 1/2-inch thick rounds.

3. Sprinkle the pecorino cheese evenly over the croute slices.

4. Top each slice with a handful of springy greens.

5. Sprinkle the venezuelan salt to taste over the greens.

6. If using romano cheese, sprinkle it over the top of the pecorino cheese.

7. Place the croute slices on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until crispy.

8. If using en croute, wrap each slice in the croute and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes.
