Tunisian Prawn Tagine
A traditional North African stew originating from Tunisia, this dish is a flavorful blend of aromatic spices and fresh seafood. Perfect for a romantic evening or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- β1 pound 1 pound prawns, peeled and deveined
- β2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons olive oiluse a high-quality Tunisian olive oil for authentic flavor

- β2 2 cloves garlic, minced
- β1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon ground cuminuse a high-quality Tunisian cumin for authentic flavor

- β1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- β1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- β1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- β2 cups 2 cups vegetable brothuse a low-sodium broth for a healthier option

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large clay pot or heavy Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly browned, about 8 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.

Add the cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.

Add the prawns and cook, stirring occasionally, until pink and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and cook, covered, until the prawns are cooked through and the sauce has thickened, about 10-12 minutes.
