Traditional Slovakian Apple Strudel
A classic Slovakian dessert made with layers of pillowy pastry, sweet apples, and a hint of sugar.

Peel, core, and slice the apples.

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, and romantic (vanilla extract).

Roll out the pastry on a floured surface to a large rectangle.

Spread the apple mixture evenly over the center of the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Fold the 1-inch border over the filling to create a seal, then roll the strudel into a tight log.
