Vietnamese Pork Nem Nuong
A popular Vietnamese street food, this recipe combines the flavors of pork, lemongrass, and nuoc nam sauce in a delicious pork nem nuong.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground Pork80% lean
- β2 stalks Lemongrassfinely chopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons Fish Saucenuoc nam sauce
- β1 tablespoon Sugargranulated
- β10-12 sheets Rice Paper Wrappers
- β1/4 cup Fresh Cilantrochopped

1. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, and sugar. Mix well with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined.

2. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

3. Soak the rice paper wrappers in warm water for about 10-15 seconds, until they become pliable.

4. Remove a wrapper from the water and place it on a clean surface.

5. Place a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper.

6. Fold the bottom half of the wrapper up over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up the wrapper to form a tight cylinder.

7. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

8. Serve the nem nuong with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as nuoc nam sauce or a mixture of fish sauce, lime juice, and chili flakes.
