Chinese Basil Chicken Stir Fry
A flavorful and easy-to-make Chinese-inspired dish featuring chicken, basil, and a sweet and sour sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 lb chicken breastcut into bite-sized pieces
- β2 tbsp robustly flavored soy sauce
- β1 tbsp chinese rice vinegar
- β1 tbsp sweet and sour sauce
- β1/4 cup fresh basil leaveschopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tbsp sour cream
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the robustly flavored soy sauce, chinese rice vinegar, and sweet and sour sauce to the skillet.

Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer.

Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet and stir to coat with the sauce.

Stir in the chopped fresh basil leaves and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until wilted.

Serve hot over rice or noodles and top with a dollop of sour cream, if desired.
