Dutch Chicken Casserole
A hearty Dutch-inspired casserole made with chicken, robust flavors, and a rich sauce.
Ingredients
- ●1 1/2 pounds Chicken breastBoneless and skinless
- ●2 tablespoons Olive oil
- ●1 large Onion
- ●3 cloves Garlic
- ●1 cup Mushrooms
- ●2 teaspoons Casserole robust seasoning
- ●1 cup shredded Dutch cheese (such as Gouda or Edam)
- ●2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- ●1 cup Chicken broth
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Season the chicken breast with salt, pepper, and Casserole robust seasoning.
- 3
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breast until browned on both sides, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 4
In the same skillet, add more oil if necessary. Sauté the onion and garlic until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- 5
Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown, about 5 minutes.
- 6
Add the flour to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 7
Slowly add the chicken broth to the skillet, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- 8
Stir in the shredded Dutch cheese until melted and smooth.
- 9
In a large baking dish, arrange the cooked chicken breast in the bottom. Pour the cheese sauce over the chicken.
- 10
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and the cheese is bubbly.
- 11
Serve hot and enjoy!
