Mediterranean Lamb Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic lamb tagine infused with the essence of Mediterranean spices, perfect for a special occasion.
Ingredients
- β1.5 kg Lamb shoulder
- β2 tbsp Olive oilfor browning
- β2 Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- β1 tsp Ground cumin
- β1 tsp Ground coriander
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1/2 tsp Black pepper
- β2 tbsp Chopped preserved lemonoptional
Instructions

Heat the oil in a large clay pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Brown the lamb on all sides, then set aside.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the cinnamon, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper, and cook for 1 minute.

Add the browned lamb and any accumulated juices, and bring to a simmer.

Transfer the pot to the oven and braise the lamb for 2 1/2 hours, or until tender.

Remove the pot from the oven and stir in the preserved lemon, if using.

Serve the lamb hot, garnished with fresh herbs, if desired.
