Roasted British Potato Gratin
A classic British-inspired side dish, roasted potatoes layered with creamy cheese and crispy toppings.
Ingredients
- ●3 large potatoespeeled and thinly sliced
- ●1 cup, grated gruyère cheese
- ●2 tablespoons butter
- ●1 small, thinly sliced onioncaramelized
- ●2 cloves, minced garlic
- ●2 tablespoons all-purpose flourfor roux
- ●1 cup milkdairy or non-dairy alternative
- ● fresh parsleychopped, for garnish

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large saucepan, combine sliced potatoes and enough cold water to cover. Bring to a boil over high heat.

Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until potatoes are slightly tender.

Drain potatoes and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook caramelized onion and minced garlic over medium heat until fragrant.

Add grated Gruyère cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, create a layer of potatoes, followed by a layer of onion and cheese mixture.

Repeat this process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

Dot the top of the gratin with butter and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Transfer the dish to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
