Tunisian Beef Tagine
A flavorful North African stew made with tender beef and richly aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1 beef (1 pound, cut into small pieces)Use a tougher cut of beef, such as shank or short ribs.
- β2 tablespoons olive oilUse a good quality olive oil for the best flavor.

- β2 tablespoons tunisian spice blendA mix of cumin, coriander, and cinnamon.

- β1/2 teaspoon cinnamonAdd more cinnamon to taste.
- β1/2 teaspoon saltAdd more salt to taste.
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepperAdd more black pepper to taste.
- β1 cup chicken brothUse low-sodium broth for best flavor.
- β1/2 cup dried apricotsChop the apricots into small pieces.
- β1/4 cup almondsChop the almonds into small pieces.

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the tunisian spice blend, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
