Classic British Beef Casserole
A hearty, comforting dish made with ground beef, rich gravy, and tender vegetables, perfect for a chilly evening.
Ingredients
- β500g Ground Beef
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- β1 large Onion
- β2 medium Carrots
- β3 medium Potatoes
- β1 cup Beef Stock
- β1/2 cup Red Wine
- β2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
- β1 cup Mushrooms
- βto taste Salt and Pepper

Preheat oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

In a large pan over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the onion, carrots, and potatoes to the pan and continue cooking for 5 minutes.

Add the flour to the pan and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Gradually add the beef stock, red wine, and tomato paste to the pan, stirring to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add the mushrooms to the pan and continue simmering for another 5 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish and cover with a lid.
