Japanese-Style Chicken and Pilaf Bowl
A flavorful and nutritious bowl filled with chicken, pilaf, and vegetables, inspired by Japanese cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastboneless and skinless
- β1 cup French pilafcooked according to package instructions
- β1 cup French pilafcooked according to package instructions
- β1 cup carrotspeeled and sliced
- β1 cup green beanstrims and cut into 1-inch pieces
- β2 tablespoons soy saucelow-sodium
- β1 tablespoon rice vinegaroptional
- β1 teaspoon sesame oiloptional
- βto taste saltpreferably sea salt
- βto taste black pepperfreshly ground

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil (if using). Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the carrots and green beans. Cook until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 3-5 minutes.

Stir in the cooked pilaf and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Return the chicken to the skillet and stir in the soy sauce mixture.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
