Rich Agar Panna Cotta
A creamy dessert made with agar agar and topped with a rich caramel sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 envelope (0.25 oz) Agardissolve in 1 cup hot water
- β1 cup French creamheavy cream or substitute
- β1/2 cup Granulated sugaradjust to taste
- β1/4 cup (1 oz) Molten chocolatemelted and cooled
- β1/4 cup (2 oz) Rich caramel saucestore-bought or homemade
- β1 tsp Vanilla extractoptional
- βoptional Kanten (agar agar powder)optional thickening agent
Instructions

1. Combine the agar agar and 1 cup of hot water in a small bowl.

2. Whisk until the agar is fully dissolved.

3. In a medium saucepan, combine the cream, sugar, and vanilla extract (if using).

4. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

5. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the melted chocolate and dissolved agar agar.

6. Let the mixture cool slightly, then pour it into individual serving cups or ramekins.

7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until set.

8. To serve, top each panna cotta with a drizzle of caramel sauce.

9. If desired, sprinkle with a pinch of kanten powder for added texture.
