Classic Italian Stew
A hearty, comforting stew made with tender beef and vegetables in a rich Italian tomato sauce. Perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, grated Grana Padano cheese
- β2 lbs Beef stew meat
- β1 large, chopped Onion
- β2 medium, peeled and chopped Carrots
- β2 stalks, chopped Celery
- β3 cloves, minced Garlic
- β28 oz Canned crushed tomatoes
- β1 cup Red wine
- β2 cups Beef broth
- β1 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion, carrots, and celery to the pot and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 8 minutes.

Add the garlic, crushed tomatoes, red wine, beef broth, and Italian seasoning to the pot. Stir to combine.

Return the browned beef to the pot and bring the stew to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 2 1/2 hours, or until the beef is tender.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
