Indian-Style Tostada Fritters
Crispy fritters filled with Indian spices and topped with a refreshing fennel slaw. A unique twist on traditional Mexican tostadas.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1 large bulb fennelgrated
- β1 medium onionfinely chopped
- β4-6 tostadacrushed into crumbs
- β1 tsp cuminground
- β1 tsp corianderground
- β1/2 tsp garam masalaground
- βto taste salt
- β2 tbsp lemon juice
- βfor frying veggie oil

In a bowl, mix together flour, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and salt.

Add grated fennel, chopped onion, and crushed tostada crumbs to the bowl. Mix well.

Gradually add water to the bowl to form a thick batter.

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.

Using a spoon, drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil.

Fry the fritters until they are golden brown and crispy.

Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

In a bowl, mix together grated fennel, lemon juice, and salt. Refrigerate the slaw until ready to serve.

Serve the fritters hot with a dollop of fennel slaw on top.
