French Beef Fillet Madeleine
A classic French dish featuring tender beef fillet in a rich Madeleine-inspired sauce, served with a side of sautéed vegetables.
Ingredients
- ●1 (6 oz) piece beef filletpreferably tender cut
- ●2 tablespoons butterunsalted
- ●1 tablespoon all-purpose flourfor dusting
- ●1 package Madeleine cake mixstore-bought or homemade
- ●1 cup heavy creamfor sauce
- ●1 medium onionchopped
- ●1 medium carrotpeeled and chopped
- ●to taste saltfor seasoning
- ●to taste black pepperfor seasoning

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

Season beef fillet with salt and black pepper.

Dust beef fillet with flour, shaking off excess.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Sear beef fillet until browned on both sides, then transfer to a baking sheet.

Bake beef fillet in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked to desired level of doneness.

While beef is cooking, make the Madeleine-inspired sauce.

In a saucepan, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

Add chopped onion and carrot to the saucepan and cook until tender.

Add heavy cream to the saucepan and bring to a simmer.

Stir in Madeleine cake mix until dissolved.
