Crispy Aloo Tikki
A popular North Indian street food made with crispy potato patties served with a side of chutney.
Ingredients
- β2 large potatoespeeled and mashed
- β1/2 onionchopped
- β1/4 gingergrated
- β1 teaspoon cumin powder
- β1 teaspoon coriander powder
- β1/2 teaspoon amchur powder
- βto taste salt
- β1 tablespoon lemon juice
- β4-6 pieces flatbreadfor serving
- β1/4 cup chutneyfor serving

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, grated ginger, cumin powder, coriander powder, amchur powder, and salt. Mix well.

2. Divide the mixture into 6-8 portions, depending on how large you want your patties to be.

3. Shape each portion into a round patty.

4. Heat a non-stick pan with a small amount of oil over medium heat.

5. Once the oil is hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

6. While the patties are cooking, toast the flatbread by grilling it on a pan or baking it in the oven for a few minutes.

7. Once the patties are done, place them on a serving plate with the toasted flatbread.

8. Serve the crispy aloo tikki with a side of chutney.

9. Garnish with a sprinkle of amchur powder and a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.
