Spicy Chicken Tagine
A French-inspired Moroccan dish with a spicy twist, made with chicken and a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken breastboneless and skinless
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onion
- β3 cloves garlic
- β1 tablespoon gingergrated
- β1 teaspoon cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- β1/2 teaspoon paprika
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute.

Add cumin, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add 1 cup of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

Remove chicken from pot and let rest.

Strain sauce and discard solids.
