Venezuelan-Style Thai Fried Rice
A fusion of Thai and Venezuelan flavors in this easy-to-make fried rice dish.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Quick-cooking ricepreferably day-old rice
- β2 cups Pilafany type of pilaf
- β1/4 cup, shredded Venezuelan cheese (Queso Venezolano)or substitute with mozzarella
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- β1 medium, diced Onion
- β2 cloves, minced Garlic
- β2, sliced Thai red chili peppers
- β1 tablespoon Fish sauce
- β1 tablespoon Soy sauce
- β1 teaspoon Sesame oil

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic and stir-fry until the onion is translucent.

Add the sliced Thai red chili peppers and stir-fry for another minute.

Add the pilaf and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, breaking up any clumps.

Add the cooked rice to the skillet or wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, breaking up any clumps.

Add the Venezuelan cheese, fish sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil to the rice mixture and stir-fry until the cheese is melted and the rice is well coated.

Transfer the rice mixture to a serving platter and garnish with additional Thai red chili peppers, if desired.
