Slovakian Trifle
A layered dessert inspired by Slovakian cuisine, featuring ladyfingers soaked in a rich fruit syrup and topped with a creamy quenched mascarpone mixture.
Ingredients
- β12-16 pieces Slovakian ladyfingersSplit lengthwise
- β1 cup Quenched mascarpone mixturesee instructions for preparation
- β1 cup Fruit syrup (such as cherry or raspberry)
- β1/2 cup Heavy creamchilled
- β2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
- β1 cup Sloe berries (or other berries)fresh or frozen
- β1/4 cup Silky chocolate shavings (optional)

Soak the ladyfingers in the fruit syrup for at least 3-5 minutes on each side.

Prepare the quenched mascarpone mixture by whipping the heavy cream and granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.

Fold the whipped cream into the quenched mascarpone mixture until well combined.

To assemble the trifle, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a large serving dish.

Top the ladyfingers with a layer of the quenched mascarpone mixture, followed by a layer of fruit syrup and a sprinkle of berries.

Repeat the layers one more time, ending with a layer of whipped cream on top.

If desired, sprinkle the top of the trifle with silky chocolate shavings.

Refrigerate the trifle for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Note: Quenched mascarpone mixture can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
