Uruguayan Empanada Pastry
A traditional Uruguayan pastry filled with gooey cheese and served at room temperature.
Ingredients
- ●500g Uruguayan dough
- ●250g Gooey cheese
- ●100g Quenched cheeseoptional

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the Uruguayan dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Cut out circles of dough to fit your empanada molds.

Place a spoonful of gooey cheese in the center of each dough circle.

Fold the dough in half and press the edges together to seal the empanada.

Brush the tops of the empanadas with a little bit of water.

Bake the empanadas for 20-25 minutes, or until they're golden brown.

Remove the empanadas from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Serve the empanadas at room temperature.
