Bulgarian Beef Pilaf
A hearty and flavorful traditional Bulgarian dish made with beef, rice, and spices.
Ingredients
- β500g Ground Beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β2 cups White Riceuncooked
- β2 medium Pungent Onionchopped
- β250ml Fermented Sour Creamadds tanginess
- β1 bunch Russian Dillchopped
- β1 tsp Pilaf Spicesincludes paprika, cumin, coriander
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
Instructions

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Add the pilaf spices and cook for 1 minute.

Add the uncooked rice and stir to coat with the oil and mix with the beef and spices.

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Fluff the pilaf with a fork and stir in the chopped dill and sour cream.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
