French Beef Empanadas
A French twist on the classic Argentine empanada, filled with tender beef and seasoned with herbs.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground Beef
- β1 medium Onion
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β2 cups All-purpose Flour
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- β1 large Egg
- β1/4 cup Water
- β1 package Argentinian Beef Empanada Dough

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Roll out the empanada dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Use a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out circles of dough.

Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Fold the dough in half over the filling and press the edges together with a fork to seal.

Brush the tops of the empanadas with the beaten egg and cut a few slits in the top of each to allow steam to escape.

Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
