Turkish Vegan Icli Kofte
A vegan version of the traditional Turkish dish, made with plant-based ingredients to replicate the flavors and textures of the original.
Ingredients
- β1 package Icli Kofte mixAvailable at most Middle Eastern grocery stores or online
- β4 slices Turkish breadChopped into small pieces
- β2 Roasted red peppersPurΓ©ed and mixed with the Icli Kofte mix
- β1 can ChickpeasDrained and rinsed
- β1 bunch Fresh parsleyChopped and used as garnish
- β2 tablespoons Lemon juiceFreshly squeezed
- β1 tablespoon Olive oilUsed for frying

Preheat the pan over medium heat.

Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan.

Fry the chopped Turkish bread until lightly browned, then set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the Icli Kofte mix, roasted red peppers, chickpeas, and lemon juice.

Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Shape the mixture into small patties.

Add the patties to the pan and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until lightly browned.

Serve the Icli Kofte on top of the fried Turkish bread, garnished with chopped parsley.
