Naengmyeon Noodle Dish
A refreshing Korean cold noodle dish, perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients
- β200g Naengmyeon noodles
- β1 tbsp Vegetable oilFor stir-frying.
- β1 tsp Korean chili flakes (gochugaru)Adjust to taste.
- β1 tsp Sesame oilFor a nutty flavor.
- β1 medium Korean pearThinly sliced.
- β1 medium CucumberThinly sliced.
- β1 head Iceberg lettuceShredded.
- β200g Chewy Korean rice cakesOptional, but recommended for added texture.
- β2 cups Cold beef or chicken brothFor serving.
Instructions

Cook the naengmyeon noodles according to the package instructions, then rinse with cold water to stop cooking.

In a large bowl, combine the cooked noodles, thinly sliced Korean pear and cucumber, and shredded iceberg lettuce.

In a small pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat and stir-fry the Korean chili flakes for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add the sesame oil and stir-fry for another minute.

Pour the stir-fry mixture over the noodles and toss to combine.

Add the chewy Korean rice cakes on top of the noodles, if using.

Pour the cold beef or chicken broth over the noodles and serve immediately.

Garnish with additional sesame oil, if desired.
