Biryani Peppery Chicken
A flavorful and aromatic Indian-inspired dish made with peppery chicken, turkish spices, and basmati rice.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken breastboneless, skinless
- β2 cups basmati riceuncooked
- β2 tablespoons peppery spice blendavailable at most spice stores
- β1 teaspoon turkish pepperground
- β2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- β1 medium onion
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 large tomatodiced
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1 teaspoon biryani masala
Instructions

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.

Add onion and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add turkish pepper and cook for 1 minute.

Add tomato and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.

Stir in peppery spice blend, salt, and biryani masala. Cook for 1 minute.

Add basmati rice to the saucepan and stir to combine.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
