Spanish Paella with Mussels
A hearty seafood paella dish made with mussels, perfect for a dinner gathering.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound, scrubbed and debearded mussels
- ●1 cup paellaSpanish-style rice dish
- ●1 dutch ovenfor cooking
- ●1 panfor searing mussels
- ●2 tablespoons olive oil
- ●3 cloves, minced garlic
- ●1 teaspoon smoked paprikafor authentic flavor
- ●to taste salt
- ●to taste black pepper
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the mussels and sear until they start to open, about 2-3 minutes.

Remove the mussels from the pan and set aside.

Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 1 minute.

Add the paella to the pan and stir to coat with the garlic and oil.

Add 4 cups of water to the pan and bring to a boil.

Add the mussels back to the pan and cover with a lid.

Transfer the pan to the preheated oven and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the mussels are cooked through and the paella is tender.

Remove the pan from the oven and season with smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
