Middle Eastern Harees
A traditional Middle Eastern dish made with wheat and meat, slow-cooked to perfection.

- β1 pound lamb or beef
- β1 medium onion
- β3 cloves garlic
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- β4 cups water

Preheat oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

Rinse the barley and soak it in water for at least 8 hours.

In a large pot, brown the lamb or beef over medium heat.

Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened.

Add the soaked barley, salt, and black pepper to the pot.

Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil.
