Tofu Tacos with Syrian Flavor
A flavorful and spicy taco recipe that combines the goodness of Syrian food with the simplicity of tofu.
Ingredients
- β1 block (14 oz) TofuExtra-firm tofu
- β1/4 cup Garlicky SyrupHomemade or store-bought
- β2 tbsp Oozy Tahini SauceHomemade or store-bought
- β1 tsp Syrian ZaatarMiddle Eastern spice mix
- β4-6 corn or flour tortillas TacosYour choice of taco shells
- β1 head LettuceChopped
- β2 TomatoesHalved
- β1 CucumberSliced
- β1 OnionThinly sliced
- β1/4 cup CilantroChopped

1. Press the tofu block between two plates for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.

2. Cut the tofu into small cubes and season with Syrian Zaatar.

3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

4. Warm the tacos shells according to package instructions.

5. Assemble the tacos by placing a few pieces of tofu onto each shell, followed by a spoonful of garlicky syrup, oozy tahini sauce, and chopped cilantro.
