Slovakian Date Cake
Moist and delicious Slovakian date cake, perfect for a snack or dessert. The nutty flavor from the dates pairs well with the tender texture of the cake.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, pitted dates
- β1 cup all-purpose flour
- β1 teaspoon baking powder
- β1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- β1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- β1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- β1 cup granulated sugar
- β2 large eggs
- β1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

Grease a 9-inch (23cm) round cake pan and set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Set aside.

In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

Fold in the dates.
