French Empanadas with Comte Cheese
A French twist on the traditional Uruguayan empanadas. These empanadas are filled with Comte cheese and baked to perfection.
Ingredients
- β250g Comte cheeseHigh-quality Comte cheese is essential for this recipe
- β1 package Empanada dough (homemade or store-bought)You can use either homemade or store-bought empanada dough

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the empanada dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch (3 mm).

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a spoonful of Comte cheese in the center of each dough circle.

Brush the edges of the dough with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.

Fold the dough in half to form a half-moon shape, and press the edges together to seal the empanada.

Brush the tops of the empanadas with melted butter.

Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
