Croatian Meat Casserole
A hearty, comforting dish filled with tender meat and rich flavors. Perfect for a chilly evening.
Ingredients
- β1 lb Ground Beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium, chopped Onionabout 1 cup
- β3 cloves, minced Garlicabout 1 tablespoon
- β2 tsp Croatian Paprikasweet or smoked, whichever you prefer
- β1 tsp Saltor to taste
- β1/2 tsp Black Pepperor to taste
- β1 cup Casseroles breadcrumbspreferably Panko
- β1 cup Grated Cheddar Cheeseoptional, but highly recommended

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

Stir in the Croatian paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional minute.

Transfer the meat mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Sprinkle the Panko breadcrumbs and grated cheddar cheese over the top of the meat mixture.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
