Spiced Lentil Samosas
A flavorful and crispy samosa filled with a mix of spiced lentils. Serve as a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- β1 cup red split lentils
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 inches gingergrated
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tsp cumin seeds
- β1 tsp coriander powder
- β1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- β1/4 tsp red chili powder
- β1 tsp salt
- β2 cups all-purpose flour
- β2 tbsp ghee or oil

1. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee or oil over medium heat.

2. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

3. Add chopped onion, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Saute until the onion is translucent.

4. Add red split lentils, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix well.

5. Add 2 cups water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

6. In a bowl, mix together all-purpose flour, salt, and 1 tbsp ghee or oil.

7. Gradually add water to the flour mixture to form a dough.

8. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.

9. Roll out each portion into a thin circle.

10. Place a spoonful of the lentil mixture in the center of each circle.

12. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry the samosas until golden brown.
