German Potato Casserole
A hearty German-inspired potato casserole perfect for a cold winter night. This comforting dish is made with tender potatoes, savory beef, and a crunchy breadcrumb topping.
Ingredients
- β2 large Russet Potatoespeeled and thinly sliced
- β1 lb Nourishing Ground Beefcooked and drained
- β2 tbsp Dense All-Purpose Flourfor thickening
- β1 cup, shredded American Cheddar Cheesedivided
- β1/2 cup Casserole Breadcrumbsfor topping
- β Salt and Pepperto taste

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the sliced potatoes to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they start to brown.

In a separate saucepan, combine the beef broth, flour, and 1 cup of the shredded cheese. Stir over low heat until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, arrange half of the potato mixture. Pour the cheese sauce over the top, then sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Repeat the layers, starting with the potatoes, then the cheese sauce, and finally the remaining cheese.
