Italian Lamb Tagine
A unique and flavorful tagine made with tender lamb, inspired by Italian cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1.5 lbs Lamb shouldercut into 2-inch pieces
- β1 Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 can (14.5 oz) Canned diced tomatoescrushed by hand
- β2 tbsp Olive oilfor searing
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh parsleyfor garnish
- β1 tsp Saltto taste
- β1 tsp Black pepperto taste
- β1/4 tsp Red pepper flakesoptional, for some heat

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the lamb pieces until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the pot. Stir to combine.

Return the lamb to the pot, cover, and transfer to the preheated oven.

Braise the lamb for 2.5 hours, or until tender and easily shredded with a fork.

Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Serve the lamb with the sauce spooned over the top.
