Traditional Slovakian Apple Fritters
A sweet Slovakian dessert inspired by traditional treats, made with crispy fritters and topped with a sweet powdered sugar glaze. Perfect for a cold evening.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Apples
- β1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- β2 teaspoons Baking powder
- β1 cup Granulated sugar
- β2 Large eggs
- β1 cup Milk
- β1/4 cup Vegetable oil
- β1 cup Powdered sugar
- β1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vegetable oil.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Peel and chop the apples, then fold them into the batter.

Heat about 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.

Using a spoon, drop the batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the fritters for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

In a small bowl, mix together powdered sugar and a pinch of cinnamon.

Dust the fritters with the powdered sugar mixture while still warm.
