Tunisian Garlic Chicken Shawarma
A flavorful and aromatic dish inspired by the streets of Tunisia, featuring garlicy chicken, crispy onions, and a hint of nostalgia.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds Boneless, skinless chicken breastscut into thin strips
- β6 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons Tunisian spice blendor North African spice blend
- β2 tablespoons Lemon juicefreshly squeezed
- β1/4 cup Olive oilfor brushing
- β1 large Onionsthinly sliced
- β4 pita breads Breadwarm
- β1/4 cup Parsleychopped, for garnish

1. In a large bowl, whisk together Tunisian spice blend, lemon juice, and 2 cloves of minced garlic.

2. Add the chicken to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

5. Meanwhile, brush the sliced onions with olive oil and cook in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.

6. Warm the pita breads by wrapping them in foil and heating them in the oven for 5 minutes.
