Coconut Sweet Buns (Chinese-Style)
Soft, fluffy buns filled with a sweet coconut and naturally sweet filling, perfect for snacking or dessert.

- β1 cup coconut milkfull-fat
- β1/2 cup sugargranulated
- β2 medium naturally sweet yamspeeled and mashed
- β2 cups flourall-purpose
- β2 teaspoons yeastactive dry
- β2 large eggsbeaten
- β1 tablespoon brazilian sesame seedsfor topping

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

2. Add sugar, mashed yams, flour, and eggs to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.

3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

5. Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces.

7. Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten it slightly into a disk shape.

8. Place a tablespoon of coconut milk in the center of each disk. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal.
