Spicy Sellou Empanadas
Crispy empanadas filled with sweet and spicy sellou, perfect as a snack or dessert.

- β2 cups Sellou
- β2 cups All-purpose flour
- β1/4 cup Lard or vegetable shortening
- β1/2 cup Water
- β1 tsp Cinnamon
- β1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
- β2 tbsp Brown sugar

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine flour, lard or shortening, and water. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces.

Roll out each piece into a thin circle.

Place 1-2 tablespoons of sellou in the center of each circle.

Fold the dough over the fillings to form a triangle or square shape. Press edges to seal.

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry empanadas until golden brown.
