Greek Lamb Koftas with Keftedes
Juicy lamb koftas served with crispy Greek-style fried balls. A classic Greek comfort food dish.
Ingredients
- β500g ground lamb
- β200g keftedes breadcrumbs
- β1 medium onionfinely chopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β100g feta cheesecrumbly
- β1 eggbeaten
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- βfor brushing olive oil
- βfor serving moist greek yogurt

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, keftedes breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, feta cheese, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with hands until just combined.

Cover mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Thread lamb mixture onto skewers.

Brush skewers with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

Grill lamb koftas for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.

While lamb is grilling, prepare keftedes. In a separate bowl, mix together 200g breadcrumbs and 100g grated onion.

In a separate pan, heat 2 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Using a spoon, drop small balls of breadcrumb mixture into hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.

Serve lamb koftas with keftedes and a dollop of moist Greek yogurt.

Garnish with fresh parsley or oregano, if desired.
