Australian Meat Pie
A twist on the classic Australian meat pie with an Indian-inspired flavor profile.
Ingredients
- β500g Ground beef
- β1 medium Onion
- β2 inches Ginger
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- β1 teaspoon Curry powder
- β1 teaspoon Garam masala
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1 cup Water
- β1 sheet Pie crust

Preheat oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).

In a pan, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the onion, ginger, and garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned.

Add the flour, curry powder, garam masala, and salt to the pan. Cook for 1 minute.

Gradually add the water to the pan and stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.

Fill the pie crust with the meat mixture and cover with another pie crust.

Brush the top of the pie with some egg wash and cut a few slits in the top.

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
