Smoky French Chicken Blanquette
A rich and creamy dish inspired by French cuisine, featuring smoky chicken and blanquette sauce.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound Boneless, skinless chicken breast
- ●2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
- ●1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
- ●1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
- ●1/4 teaspoon Salt
- ●1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- ●2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- ●1 cup Heavy cream
- ●1/2 cup Grated Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Season the chicken with smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken until browned on both sides, about 5-6 minutes per side.
- 4
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook the chicken for 10-12 minutes, or until cooked through.
- 5
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest.
- 6
In the same skillet, add the flour and whisk to combine with the remaining butter. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 7
Gradually pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
- 8
Stir in the Gruyère cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 9
Slice the cooked chicken and serve with the blanquette sauce spooned over the top.
