Spicy Beef Kitfo Stir Fry
A spicy twist on traditional Ethiopian kitfo served with Chinese flair. Mildly bitter greens add a nice contrast to this flavorful dish.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Kitforaw and finely chopped
- β2 cups Beef brothhomemade or store-bought
- β2 tablespoons Soy saucelow-sodium
- β2 inches Gingergrated
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon Sambal oelekspicy chili paste
- β1 bunch Mildly bitter greenssuch as bok choy or gai lan
Instructions

Heat the beef broth in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the soy sauce, ginger, and garlic to the skillet. Stir to combine.

Add the chopped kitfo to the skillet and stir to break up any clumps.

Cook the kitfo for 2-3 minutes, or until it is no longer raw in the center.

Add the sambal oelek to the skillet and stir to combine.

Add the mildly bitter greens to the skillet and stir to combine.

Cook the greens for 1-2 minutes, or until they are wilted.

Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the kitfo stir fry hot, garnished with additional ginger and garlic if desired.
