Midnight Ukrainian Chickpea Dumplings
A traditional Ukrainian dish with a twist, these dumplings are filled with a hearty chickpea mixture and served with a side of tangy sauce.
Ingredients
- β2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1/2 cup warm water
- β1 can (15 oz) chickpeasdrained and rinsed
- β1 medium onionfinely chopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tablespoon dillchopped
- β1 tablespoon sour cream
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepper

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and warm water to form a dough. Knead for 5 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.

Roll out each piece into a thin circle.

Place a tablespoon of the chickpea mixture in the center of each circle.

Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the dumplings for 10-12 minutes.

While the dumplings are cooking, heat the sour cream and dill in a small saucepan over low heat.
