Japanese Lamb Tagine
A twist on traditional Italian cuisine, this Japanese-inspired lamb tagine is a unique and flavorful dish.
Ingredients
- β1 (1.5-2 pound) boneless leg of lamb, cut into 2-inch pieces Lamb leg
- β2 tablespoons Midnight oil
- β2 inches fresh ginger, peeled and grated Craving ginger
- β2 tablespoons Japanese sake
- β1 large onion, chopped Onion
- β3 cloves, minced Garlic
- β2 teaspoons Tagine spice blend
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
- β1/4 cup Raisins
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh parsley

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add lamb and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add ginger and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.

Add sake, tagine spice blend, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Return lamb to pot and bring to a simmer.

Cover pot and transfer to the oven. Braise until lamb is tender, about 2 1/2 hours.

Stir in raisins and parsley. Serve lamb hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Serve over couscous or rice, if desired.
