Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, melted chocolate, and tagine spice blend. Heat over low heat, stirring until smooth.

Add pitted dates to the saucepan and stir to coat with the chocolate mixture.

Transfer the mixture to a 20cm (8-inch) round baking dish.
