Pan-Seared Wagyu with Japanese-Style Bowl
A simple and elegant dish featuring the richness of Wagyu beef, served with a side of steamed vegetables and Japanese-style rice bowl.
Ingredients
- β1 lb Wagyu beef strip loinpreferably with a marbling score of 6 or higher
- β1 cup Japanese riceshort-grain rice
- β2 sheets Luscious nori seaweedfor garnish
- β1 tsp Bowl nori seasoningfor seasoning
- β2 tsp Sesame oilfor brushing
- β2 tbsp Soy saucefor marinade
- β2 tbsp Sakefor marinade
- β1 bunch Green onionsfor garnish
- β1 head Steamed broccolifor serving

1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook Japanese rice according to package instructions.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sake, and sesame oil to make a marinade.

3. Place the Wagyu beef strip loin in a shallow dish and brush both sides with the marinade.

4. Heat a skillet over high heat and sear the Wagyu beef for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to desired level of doneness.

5. Let the Wagyu beef rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

6. While the Wagyu beef is cooking, steam broccoli florets in a steamer basket until tender.

7. To assemble the Japanese-style rice bowl, place a scoop of cooked Japanese rice on a plate, followed by sliced Wagyu beef, steamed broccoli, and a sprinkle of nori seaweed.
