Malaysian Pork Bao
A delicious and tender pork bao dish inspired by Malaysian flavors.
Ingredients
- ●1 (500g) piece Pork tenderloinFresh and of good quality
- ●4-6 pieces Luscious bun (bao dough)Homemade or store-bought
- ●2 tbsp Peanut oilFor cooking the pork
- ●2 inches GingerSliced thinly
- ●3 cloves GarlicMinced
- ●2 tbsp Soy sauceFor marinade
- ●1 tbsp Hoisin sauceFor marinade
- ●1 tsp Sesame oilFor finishing
- ●Handful ScallionsChopped
- ●Handful Bean sproutsFor garnish

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a blender or food processor, blend ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and hoisin sauce to make the marinade.

3. Place the pork tenderloin in a large ziplock bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

4. Remove the pork from the marinade and cook in a skillet with peanut oil over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.

5. Transfer the pork to the oven and roast for 20-25 minutes or until cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

6. While the pork is cooking, steam the bao buns for 5-7 minutes or until they are soft and pliable.

7. Slice the cooked pork into thick pieces.

8. To assemble the baos, place a few slices of pork onto a steamed bao bun, followed by a sprinkle of scallions and a few bean sprouts.

9. Drizzle sesame oil over the top and serve immediately.
