Pan-Seared Gambas with Garlic Butter Sauce
A simple yet flavorful Spanish dish featuring succulent shrimp, garlic butter, and a hint of Asian inspiration. Serve with crusty bread or over rice for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- ●12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined gambasfresh or frozen
- ●2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened luscioushigh-quality for best flavor
- ●2 cloves garlic, minced flakyfreshly minced for best flavor
- ●1/4 cup dry white wine spanishoptional, can substitute with chicken broth
- ●1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley ajillofor garnish
- ●1/4 teaspoon Korean chili flakes (gochugaru) jjigaeoptional, for added heat
- ●salt and pepper, to taste alto taste

1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

2. In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.

3. Add the garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

4. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.

5. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

6. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and the white wine (if using).

7. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet and bring the mixture to a simmer.

8. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.

9. Stir in the chopped parsley and Korean chili flakes (if using).

10. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic butter sauce.
