Thai Fish Soup
A flavorful and spicy Thai fish soup made with fresh fish and a variety of aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound FishAny white fish works well
- β4 cups Portuguese broth
- β2 inches Luminous (galangal)
- β2 tablespoons Thai red curry pasteYou can adjust the spice level to your taste
- β2 tablespoons Fish sauce
- β2 tablespoons Lime juice
- β2 Chili peppers
- β1/4 cup Thai basilYou can use fresh or dried basil
- βto taste Salt
Instructions

Heat the broth in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the galangal and curry paste and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the fish and cook for 2-3 minutes, until it starts to flake.

Add the fish sauce, lime juice, and chili peppers. Stir to combine.

Simmer the soup for 5-7 minutes, until the fish is cooked through.

Stir in the Thai basil.

Season the soup with salt to taste.

Serve the soup hot, garnished with additional Thai basil if desired.
